Stampabilities Sock Monkey Rubber Stamp - Missing You

Howdy! I created this card for Operation Write Home because more child-friendly "missing you" cards are needed.  I used Stampabilities Sock Monkey Rubber Stamp (wood mounted) and colored him up with Spectrum Noir BG2, BG4, & BG5 with a little CR9 for the red lips and pompom. I used Copic's E42 for the hands, feet, tail and face.

This little guy is mounted on black card stock and I used The Paper Studio's "Sock Monkey" background paper (found at my local Hobby Lobby.) I used an EK Success Button Punch, a "Missing You" sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs "Missing You Set", and added some hand-stitching in red Omega thread.

Our Daily Bread Designs November OWH Challenge

Hello everyone! Every month Our Daily Bread Designs will pay for the shipping on two boxes of cards to our Hero's if 50 cardmakers participate in the monthly challenge. This month's challenge is to create a Valentine or Love card. You can find details on this challenge here:

I created this card using scraps of 1 1/4 " squares mounted on card stock. I added the hand-stitching around all the squares and used a Viva Pearl Pen in Ice White to create the swirl. Before mounting the squares I dry embossed a couple with hearts and used one of the $1 Michael's stamps for the "I Love You" sentiment.

Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #199, Mickey & Friends, Our Daily Bread Designs "Missing You", & Hero Arts "Year Round Sentiments" Stamp Set

Happy Sketch Sunday everyone! Today's sketch is #199 and here it is:
You can find details about the challenge here:

I created the Mickey & Friends card using paper from Michael's (possibly Recollections?)  that is covered with 1 3/4 " squares of Disney character faces. This is a small part of the 12x12 paper:

I cut the individual squares down to fit the sketch size, mounted them on black card stock and popped them on dimensional adhesive.  I used white Bazzill as the background, added more layers of red and black, and then added some hand-stitching in red using Omega thread.

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Design's "Missing You" set and you can find it here:

I have been trying to find more ways to use this Disney character paper so I cut the squares
down last week for this card and sketch challenge #198:

Here is last week's sketch:

You can find details about this challenge here:

I did have to alter the placement of the bow to accommodate the sentiment tag (and yes the sentiment is from a Hero Arts Operation Write Home set called "Year Round Sentiments" but I cut the rubber stamp sentiment so that I could stack it when needed.)

And since I have been playing with Disney papers all week creating child-friendly cards, I also created this one using some alphabet letters:

The sentiment on this card is from the same Hero Arts Operation Write Home set and you can find it here:

Our Daily Bread Designs October Challenge/OWH

Hello everyone!

Our Daily Bread Designs sponsors a challenge each month for Operation Write Home. If 50 card makers play along, Our Daily Bread Designs will pay to ship two boxes of cards to our deployed heroes. This month's challenge is to focus on the sentiment. You can find details about the challenge here:

For this challenge I decided to try to do something with this paper that has been in my stash for too long. It is from Recollections and is really bright, which has been a challenge for me to use for some reason. I created this sentiment using Hero Arts "Fanciful Swirl" Alphabets and decided it went with this wild paper. I layered everything on black card stock and added a little green ribbon. I used dimensional adhesive under the middle layer to add a little pop, and I cut some scraps to make little corner triangles.

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs WCMD

It is World Card Making Day weekend! Our Daily Bread Designs is helping us all stay motivated with their wonderful stamps and products.

I used Our Daily Bread Design's Bicycle stamp and one of the sentiments that came with it.  I colored it with Spectrum Noir and layered it on Recollections papers. I added some May Arts ribbons, a few pearls and I used dimensional adhesive under the flowers in the basket.

You can find the rubber stamp set here:

OWH Sketch Challenge # 192

Happy Sketch Sunday everyone! Here is today's Operation Write Home Sketch:

You can find details about the challenge here:

And here is my entry:

I did have to flip the sentiment oval to the opposite side when I found the ribbon would be covered if I kept it on the left.

I used Recollections papers mostly with a little white Bazzil.  The sentiment is from a Fiskars set called "Laugh With Me Quotes." I added a little stitching around the edges and used Cricut's Elegant Edges Cartridge to cut out the scalloped oval.

Thank you for stopping by!

OWH Sketch Challenge # 191

Hello everyone! Today's sketch challenge for Operation Write Home is to use this sketch:

You can find the details about the challenge here:

Here is my card:

The papers were all from my scrap pile, the sentiment is from Penny Black, and the tassels were hand made using an Omega variegated thread. Everything was layered on black card stock and I did a little hand-stitching on it (using the same Omega thread.)  The tassels are a bit bulkier than I usually use for Operation Write Home, so I added dimensional adhesive tape behind the sentiment to make the
tassels not stick out so much.

Thank you for stopping by!
