Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge # 127

Happy Monday everyone! If it is Monday, then it must mean there is another challenge over on the Papertrey Ink blog.  Here is a link to the challenge:

Today's challenge is to use a double stamped background using a Papertrey Ink product.

I made this card using one of the little stamp sets from Papertrey Ink called "Boy Basics Rock On Stamp Set".   Using the music notes and the music lines from this set, I created a background.  I don't think I would have ever tried this if this challenge had not come along. I think I was afraid it would be too hard to match things up to make some sort of pattern, but it was really easy.

Once the background was done and I knew I would use red as an accent, I then stamped and heat embossed a guitar. I inked up the stamp with Tim Holtz "Fired Brick" ink and a little black Memento on just the edges.  I used Recollections Clear Embossing Powder when I heat embossed. It ended up giving the guitar a shiny look, almost metallic.

I added a little more background paper and one of the sentiments from the "Boy Basics Rock On Stamp Set" ( it comes with four sentiments--awesome!) I also added a little satin ribbon which started out white until I colored it with Spectrum Noir.  I think I will be purchasing most of my ribbons in white and then coloring them whatever color I need rather than trying to have every color on hand (which had become a storage nightmare when I had too many different spools.)

Thank you for stopping by!
