ODBDSLC268 Card Challenge "Peaches"

Hello everyone!
I made this card as part of the Our Daily Bread designs Shining the Light Challenge for this week. Here is a link to the challenge post:

The challenge was "anything goes" but you must use a ODBD stamp. This was the perfect reason to pull out one of my favorite stamps, the "Peaches" stamp set. You can find it here:

I chose to make my jar full of strawberry jam because I wanted to use red card stock with it. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir and stamped it three times.  I wanted to have extra images so I could layer up the jar topper. First I hand cut the "fabric" blue gingham jar topper and then from another image cut out just the red ribbon. I used dimensional adhesive under the jar topper to make it pop.

I used Cricut's Elegant Edges cartridge to make the scalloped circles and a "Swiss Dots" embossing folder to make the background piece.

The top and bottom border stamp is from the "Front Porch" ODBD stamp set and can be found here:

I also used Tim Holtz Fired Brick ink for this border piece and heat embossed it with Recollections Clear Embossing powder.

Thank you for stoping by!

White & Gold Knitting Card Kaspareks Rubber Stamp

Hello everyone!
Here is a card I made for my sister who is an avid knitter.
I wanted a simple white and gold card so that the knitting needles stamp would be the focus.

The knitting needles stamp can be found here on kaspareks.biz:

I used Spellbinders "Radiant Rectangles" to die cut the ovals and rectangles and Cuttlebug's "Swiss Dots" for the embossed background.

I used ColorBox Gold ink and heat embossed the knitting needles with a clear embossing powder. I also added a little gold grosgrain ribbon and rounded the corners with Martha Stewart's Corner Rounder.

Thank you for stopping by!

March ODBD Challenge

Happy Birthday Dad!!

I wanted to wait until today to post this one to celebrate what would have been my father's 76th birthday. He battled cancer for several years and passed away just a couple weeks ago. It is still so hard to believe.  I like to think the Lord is keeping watch over him until we are together again some day.

This card is for the March Our Daily Bread designs challenge with Operation Write Home. The challenge was to make the sentiment the focal point. Here is a link to the challenge:

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs "Missing You" set (C154) and the little decorative scroll is from ODBD "Thank You Sentiments".

The papers are from Recollections, the border was made using Martha Stewart's Arch Lattice Border punch, and I added a little grosgrain ribbon.

I miss you Dad....

Our Daily Bread designs SLC228

Hello everyone!
Here is a card for the Our Daily Bread designs "Shining the Light Challenge" #228. You can find details about the challenge here:

The challenge was to make a card without using a colored image. The image could be stamped, just not colored. This took me a little while to accomplish because I love to color. However this stamp called "Cross with Vines" from Our Daily Bread designs was perfect. I stamped it in Gold ink and used clear embossing powder to heat emboss it.

You can find the "Cross with Vines" here:

I used Our Daily Bread designs Rustic Beauty Collection papers (from the 6x6 pad) and die cut the ovals using "Opulent Ovals" (for the white oval) and "Floral Ovals" (for the large one.)
Both dies are from Spellbinders.

The background paper was altered because I wanted the floral detail in both corners. On the original
6 x 6 paper the floral design is in each corner which is too big for an A2 size card. To make it fit I just used the edges of the 6 x 6 so I could have the pretty floral in each corner.

I added a little gold ink around the edges of all of the Rustic Beauty papers, added some white satin ribbon, and layered the whole thing on black card stock.  The large oval is also popped on dimensional adhesive.

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread designs SLC227

Hello everyone!
This week's Our Daily Bread designs "Shining the Light Challenge" is to create a card using this photo as inspiration:
You can find details about the challenge here:

I created my card using an old rubber stamp that I removed from it's wood mount years ago (so sorry, I do not have even a stamp company identification.)

I stamped it using Black Memento Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
I colored the image using Spectrum Noir.

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread designs "Porch" stamp set.
You can find the stamp set here:

The background white card stock was created using Lifestyle Crafts "Bloom" embossing folder and it reminded me of the vase in the picture.   I also added a little ribbon colored to match using
Spectrum Noir "CG2".

Thank you for stopping by!

I used the stamp to make the background paper by stamping in embossing ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

Saturated Canary "Reader" & Graphic 45 "By The Sea"

This image was so fun to color. She is Saturated Canary's "Reader" image
and can be purchased here:

I colored her up with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and used Glossy Accents on her glasses.

The papers are from Graphic 45's "By The Sea" 8x8 stack. I added a little stitching, the Arch Lattice Martha Stewart Border punch, and a little satin ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light Challenge #226

Hello everyone!
Each week Our Daily Bread Designs offers the "Shining the Light" Challenge for card makers. You can find details about the challenge here:

The challenge this week is to use this sketch:

I did alter the sketch to accommodate the soldier stamp I wanted to use (and I do not have the lovely "Joy in a Jar" apothecary stamp or die set yet....it is on my wish list though.) I wanted to make
a card to send to Operation Write Home because they collect cards and
letters of encouragement for our deployed heros.  I will write a little note in it for
a soldier to thank them for their service to our country.

The patterned paper is from Our Daily Bread Designs "Patriotic Collection" and the soldier and sentiment are from Our Daily Bread Designs "Not Forgotten" stamp set.
You can find these items here:

I stamped the image and sentiment using Momento Ink in Black and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I added red and navy ink to the flag image after embossing using a pointed Q-Tip to get around those tight corners of the stars.

The silver star is from Oriental Trading Company and was part of a patriotic
embellishment collection you can find here:

This week's challenge was to select three colors from a specific color palette to be the focal point of your card. Here is the color palette:
For my card I used patterned papers from my stash and dark brown card stock. I used the Our Daily Bread Designs "Ornate Hearts" Die Set and the Our Daily Bread Designs "Flower Heart" Stamp.
You can find them here:

The Flower Heart was stamped using Momento Ink in Desert Sand and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I also used one of the dies from the Beautiful Borders Die Set found here:

Our Daily Bread Designs SLC223 Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!
Each week Our Daily Bread Designs offers us a challenge for our card making. You can find details about this week's challenge here:

This week's challenge was to create a card using this photo as inspiration, either using the colors or something else in the picture.

For my card I used the colors of mint, white, and pink and I focused on the florals.  I found a piece of floral designer paper in my stash and layered the panels (5" x 1 1/8th") on mint card stock.

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs "Thank You Sentiments" stamp set and I used  ODBD's Crocheted Border stamp and die.  I embossed the sentiment and the crochet stamp using ink from Colorbox and Recollections Clear Embossing Powder.

The "Thank You Sentiments" stamp set can be found here:

I added an actual crocheted trim piece made by my mother Jean Ness (thank you Mom!) and also added a little satin ribbon.

The scalloped ovals were made using the Elegant Edges cartridge from Cricut and I put some dimensional adhesive under the sentiment panel.

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs SLC222 Color Challenge

Hello everyone! Today's card is for the Our Daily Bread Designs SLC222 Color Challenge. You can find details about the challenge here:

The challenge was to choose three colors from this palette and create a card with those colors as the focal point.

The three colors I focused on are lavender, peach, and cream. I used Spectrum Noir to color the image and I did add a little blue when coloring up the window for a little more contrast.

I used Our Daily Bread Designs "Cathedral Window-Wood" stamp and the "Cathedral Window & Border Die" found here:

The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs "Porch" rubber stamp set and can be found here:

I also used Spellbinders Fantastic Flourish floral die, a little grosgrain ribbon in cream, and a couple gems for a little bling.  Everything is layered on Bazzill card stock and I used a Martha Stewart "Punch Around The Page" in Eyelet Lace for the corner detail.

Thank you for stopping by!

Our Daily Bread Designs "Peaches"

Hello everyone!

Today's card was created using Our Daily Bread Designs "Peaches" rubber stamp set.  I stamped the image on white card stock using black ink and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. But then decided I wanted to paper piece the "fabric cover" and bow so I  stamped the image again on  red gingham paper, and once more on white for the bow. I cut out the white bow and colored it with Spectrum Noir DR1 to match the gingham paper. I then cut out the red gingham cover and used Tombow liquid to attach the bow.

The rest of the image was colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers. I layered everything on black card stock for an extra layer.

I used another Our Daily Bread Designs item for more details. The picket "Fence" die can be found here:

The flowers were cut from a Spellbinders die called Shapeabilities D-Lites Fantastic Flourish. It is a large spray of flowers and leaves so I cut off just the pieces I needed and colored them.

I used Cricut's Elegant Edges cartridge to cut the scalloped edge square under the matted image and OWH Sketch #21 (I love all the little rectangles) for inspiration.

I added a couple gems for a little sparkle and the sentiment is from the "Peaches" set.

Underneath it all is a wonderful wood fence paper from a My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad called "On The Bright Side-Two".

Thank you for stopping by!

OWH Sketch #246

Hello everyone! Here is a card I created for Operation Write Home's Sketch Challenge #246.  You can find details about the challenge here:
Sketch #246

I used Stampabilities "Sock Monkey" rubber stamp and colored him up with Spectrum Noir. The stamp is mounted on wood and found at Hobby Lobby.  I paired it with The Paper Studio's "Sock Monkey" paper (also at Hobby Lobby.)

I layered everything on deep red and dark brown card stock and then added a little red stitching around the border.  I used my Cricut to create a couple of little hearts and popped them on a little dimension.

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set (the OWH fundraiser one.)

Thank you for stopping by! :)

January Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge/ OWH

Hello everyone! This month's Our Daily Bread Designs challenge with Operation Write Home is to create an "Any Hero" card. I will be writing in this card to offer encouragement and support to one of our deployed heros.

You can find details about the challenge here:

For this card I used papers from Our Daily Bread Designs "Patriotic Collection" and you can find it here:

I used a Tonic Star border punch, added a little satin ribbon, and used Omega thread in red, white and blue to tie on a little USA charm from BoxerScrapbooks.com (but it was the last in my stash so I have had it for a little while.....)

The sentiment is from Unity stamps and can be found here:
