Sketch Challenge # 226/Operation Write Home

Happy Sketch Sunday everyone!

Every Sunday Operation Write Home posts a sketch challenge for everyone to play along with. Here is today's sketch:

You can find details about the sketch here:

I created today's card using papers from two My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pads (The Sweetest Thing Tangerine & On The Bright Side-Two).

The hearts were cut with Cricut's "Doodlecharms" cartridge, I distressed the edges using Fun Stampers Journey ink in "Harvest Delight",  added some brass look brads in the corners, and added a couple cross stitches.

The sentiment is from Stampabilities.

This card came together easily because I had just used some of the same elements to create this card (the Cricut, the stamp):

The lighting was a little off because it was photographed on a white background (too early in the morning perhaps??).  Lindsay, The Frugal Crafter, recently posted a video on using up thread scraps and I had to try it.  Here is a link to the video:

I used several different kinds of thread (DMC, Omega, "craft floss") and this gave it some really cool texture, and it used up some little bits.

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Great idea--like your choice of embellishments and sentiment--would love to see the colors of papers used (I'm sure they're gorgeous).
